Emina Cunmulaj (Albanian pronunciation: [ɛˈmina tʃunˈmulaj]; born September 12, 1984) is an American model and business executive.[1] [2]Born in Farmington Hills, Michigan in 1984 to Albanian parents from Montenegro, Cunmulaj was discovered at the age of 15 when she reached the final round at a modeling competition.[3]
Cunmulaj was born in Farmington Hills, Michigan, United States to Albanian parents from Podgorica, Montenegro. She moved to Montenegro (then a republic of Yugoslavia) at the age of four in 1988.[citation needed] Cunmulaj speaks fluent Albanian, Montenegrin English, Italian, French and Spanish.[citation needed]. Cunmulaj is of Albanian descent.[4]
Cunmulaj is married to Persian Jewish businessman Sam Nazarian and has 3 children.[5][6]
At 15 years old Cunmulaj made it to the finals at a modeling competition and was later signed with Elite Model Management.[citation needed]
In 2004 Cunmulaj becomes the face of Etro and Just Cavalli. Cunmulaj also made her debut in Paris for Yves Saint Laurent, Viktor & Rolf and Dries Van Noten.[citation needed] In 2006 she was photographed by Steven Meisel for the Dolce & Gabbana spring ad campaign.[7] In 2007 she was photographed for the cover of the magazine Surface and was part of Jean Paul Gaultier and Bottega Veneta spring ad campaign.[citation needed]
Cunmulaj has walked for Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Alberta Ferretti, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Hermès, and Jean Paul Gaultier.[8][9][7]
On September 29, 2023, Cunmulaj was telecast judge of the 72nd Miss USA pageant held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada.
