Township in Ontario, Canada
Évanturel (2021 population 502) is a township in Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada. It almost completely surrounds the town of Englehart. The main settlement in Évanturel is the community of Heaslip.
It was named after François-Eugène-Alfred Évanturel, the first Francophone speaker for the Ontario legislative assembly.
Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park is partially located in the township.
Demographics
In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Evanturel had a population of 502 living in 193 of its 203 total private dwellings, a change of 11.8% from its 2016 population of 449. With a land area of 89.21 km2 (34.44 sq mi), it had a population density of 5.6/km2 (14.6/sq mi) in 2021.[2]
