Mahadevan (actor)

Mahadevan (born 6 May 1961) is an Indian actor who has appeared in predominately Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. In Telugu, he is credited as Ramaraju.

Career

Mahadevan worked in many Telugu films under the stage name of Ramaraju before getting his breakthrough portraying the antagonist in the Tamil film Pithamagan (2003) by Bala.[1] The film's name has subsequently been used as a prefix to his stage name to distinguish him from other artistes called Mahadevan.[2] Regarding his performance in Muruga (2007), a critic wrote that "Pithamagan fame Mahadevan walks away with all honours. He lends solidity to the role".[2] He reprised his role from Pithamagan (2003) in the Kannada remake Anatharu (2007).[3]
